Your Library, Your Voice: Project Overview and Funding
Tuesday, March 176:00—7:30 PMMontague Senior Center62 Fifth Street, Turners Falls, MA, 01376

The state has approved Montague’s design for a new main library and committed to funding a large part of the project. Now it’s time for Montague voters to learn more about what this means financially for our community.
Join Town Administrator Walter Ramsey, Town Accountant Angelica Desroches, Downes Construction, and members of the Library Building Steering Committee for an overview of the Main Library Building Project. We’ll talk about why a new library is needed, review the building plans, explain how costs will be kept low, and walk through the funding and voting process. You can expect to learn more about the role of the Massachusetts Public Library Construction Program, what a debt exclusion means, what the costs could look like for Montague taxpayers, and why accessibility challenges are significantly limiting the Carnegie Library.
Our goal is to help residents understand the funding options and make informed decisions about the project.
Light refreshments will be served. All ages are welcome.
