Tea. Talk. Timeless books.
Join us on the 2nd or 3rd Monday of each month, 4–5 pm, for a cozy classic lit discussion. We’ll kick things off March 16 with Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451—a powerful story about censorship and the fight to protect books. Pair it with our March film screenings on library book bans for a month of timely stories and conversations. Books available one month ahead at the Montague Center Branch.
About Ray Bradbury:
Ray Douglas Bradbury was an American author and screenwriter. One of the most celebrated 20th-century American writers, he worked in a variety of genres, including fantasy, science fiction, horror, mystery, and realistic fiction.
About Fahrenheit 451:
Guy Montag is a fireman. His job is to destroy the most illegal of commodities, the printed book, along with the houses in which they are hidden. Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television “family.” But when he meets an eccentric young neighbor, Clarisse, who introduces him to a past where people didn’t live in fear and to a present where one sees the world through the ideas in books instead of the mindless chatter of television, Montag begins to question everything he has ever known.
